A page from it

How it reads.

From Part One

The score is not the point. The gap between your best test and your worst one is the point, and for almost everybody that gap is wider than they expect.

Men who train hard are usually two rungs apart across this list, which means the fastest available progress is not in the thing they are already good at.

The Field Manual, Part One

Honestly

Who this is for.

01

You have never measured any of this and you want one afternoon that tells you where you stand

02

You train already and suspect one quality has been quietly ignored for years

03

You want a programme that scales from Foundation to Standard without buying a new book

And who it is not for.

01

You want a fat loss plan. This is not one and it says so in the first chapter

02

You want somebody to tell you that where you are is fine. The card is deliberately hard to pass

Before you ask

Four questions.

How is this different from the free pages on the site?

The site gives you every test and every threshold for nothing, and it always will. The book is what turns the tests into a programme: the test day protocol, how to read your score as a shape, and the twelve week block written session by session. If you only want to know where you stand, the free card is enough.

Do I need equipment to take the tests?

Nine of the eleven need a floor, a wall and a chair. The other two need somewhere to hang and a pair of kettlebells. If you have neither, you can still take nine tests today and know most of what you need to know.

What if I score at Foundation on everything?

That is the shape that moves fastest of the four, and the book says so. Flat at Foundation across the board means the twelve week block works on all of it at once, and one rung on four tests in a single block is a normal result from there.

Is it printable?

Yes. It is a PDF laid out for Letter paper, and the card at the back is designed to be printed on its own and carried.
